Terms of Service

These terms cover use of Project Tabletop (the "Service"). By creating, joining, or loading a campaign, you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
What the Service is
Project Tabletop is a session companion for tabletop RPGs — it tracks HP, initiative, inventory, and map position for a group that's already playing the game some other way. It is provided free of charge, "as is," with no guarantee of uptime, data durability, or fitness for any particular purpose. Don't rely on it as the only copy of anything you're not prepared to lose.
Accounts and access
There are no accounts. A campaign is protected by its game code, which grants player access to anyone who has it — you're responsible for who you share it with, and we have no way to verify identity behind it. GM control isn't a separate code you hold; it's tied to the browser tab that created the campaign.
Age requirement
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you're under the age of majority where you live, you should have a parent or guardian's permission.
Your content
Maps, portraits, handouts, character data, and anything else you upload or type into a campaign is yours. By uploading it, you grant us the license needed to store, display, and transmit it back to your table as part of running the Service — nothing more.
You're responsible for what you upload. Don't upload content you don't have the right to use, or anything illegal, infringing, or that violates someone else's rights. We can remove content or terminate a campaign that violates this. You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claim arising out of content you upload.
Copyright complaints
If you believe content hosted on the Service infringes your copyright, reach out via our contact form with the material, its location, and your contact information, and we'll investigate and remove infringing content where appropriate.
Prohibited use
- Uploading illegal content, or content that infringes someone else's rights.
- Attempting to disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the Service or another campaign.
- Using the Service for anything other than running or joining a tabletop RPG session.
No warranty
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't guarantee it will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that campaign data will never be lost.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Project Tabletop and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the Service, including loss of campaign data. Our total liability for any claim arising from the Service is limited to the amount you paid to use it — which, since the Service is free, is zero.
Termination
We can suspend or remove a campaign that violates these terms. You can stop using the Service at any time.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change, this page will be updated with a new date at the top. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the new terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
